My brother planned having children with his wife. Our first surprised us, it was at least 18 months earlier than our plans. One of the biggest contrasts between our processes was the way the planning enabled him and his wife to work together from day 1, as they had already discussed and planned for potential issues. I on the otherhand often had to fumble around, working it out as I went.
