Your Relationship With Your Daughter
There is a saying:
"If you have a son, thats 1 dick on the street you have to worry about. If you have a daughter, thats every dick in the street you have to worry about".
And that really encapsulates our lot as fathers of little girls! While our daughters, being Daddy's Little Girls, bring us so much joy, heart-ache and worry are all part and parcel of watching them grow into beautiful young women

If you have a daughter, don't have any aspersions to the contrary, the relationship you develop with your daughter will be the most important relationship she will have in her formative years. The quote above is from a scientific study which shows that the relationships we fathers have with our daughters goes so far as to impact the timing of their entrance into puberty. That's how important it is for us to get this right. And that is way before we get to be selfish and start being jealous about all her boyfriends. (You can read more on that study here)
By the way, the study revealed that the positive father daughter relationships caused a later physical maturation. This is great news for us as it means that when we get this right, our little angels stay our little angels for just that little bit longer. Certainly, thats all the incentive I need ;-)
